Liberals Invoke War Measures Act to Protect Medicare
Well, the GL never thought he'd see the day when even the Supreme Court realized that something was broken beyond repair in this country. The decision should have started as such "I declare, the games of the Irrational Health Care Debate...Open". Possibly a small flame being carried in that was lit by a group of Medicare supporters off their bong could light a cauldron outside a government run MRI clinic. God only knows what the Liberals and NDP will do in this battle to come.
One thing is certain; the Canadian populace will have to take a very skeptical approach to what much of the media will present to them. What has become the normal in our lexicon, 'two tier healthcare' to indicate the presence of private delivery is a complete misnomer and one of the subversive ways media and supporters of Medicare try and bend the issue. Stay tuned...
....
The GL awoke this morning and after finding Tiny Small's keys, was treated to his usual does of Canada AM. Entertaining stuff...
First up was Ujjal Dosanjh who was interviewed by Seamus O'Regan, a Liberal dishrag if ever there was one who may as well set the ball on the tee for the Ujj-meister. I wait for the day when he can no longer keep his gushing Liberal love to himself and in an interview with Ralph Goodale says "So Minister, how do you feel being part of a political party that is full of goodness, and light, making our lives so much better every day?" Sigh. Back to the Minister of Health, who was full of typical crap...catchphrases; platitudes about how things are getting better, $41M don'tcha know!! Blah blah blah...results anyone????
Bev Thompson, not Mike Wallace for sure but at least with some level of professional integrity interviewed the Doctor who took this case to the S.C, Jacques Chaoulli ...he was excellent. Basically said that there is no reason on God's green earth why anyone should have to wait, stop talking about the US system here which nobody in the health field is proposing and start looking at European examples where nobody is 'left behind' and it's a Universal system, privately delivered with no wait times.
GL's favourite moment with the doctor though was a massive shot at the Ujj right off the bat. Dosanjh admitted he hadn't read the whole decision, but it was a Quebec matter and didn't involve the Canadian Charter. Paraphrasing the Doctor, 'I would advise him to actually read the decision and see that it does discuss the Charter before he makes any more inaccurate claims". Brilliant...more guys like him and I'd think Quebec should stay in Canada.
If I hear one more person say "health care is what defines us as Canadians" I might go postal, or GL's version which is to beat up a pizza instead of shooting people...looks like I'm going to put on some lbs. in the coming months.

um, no he wouldn't like your website...if you read all his postings, you'd know he's already got a girlfriend; who, in spite of some minor flaws (jimmy legs) am magnificently perfect to a fault.
